Back from the wilderness

So it's Friday, May 9th. Last Saturday, I hitched a ride into Big Sur. I got dropped of in the Andrew Molera park that happened to pay only camping. Luckily, I met a bunch of cool surfers who let me set up a tent in there camp spot. I got to hang out with them all night -- we talked and ate food and drank wine, I listened to them play music, and had a really good time. The next morning, after being resupplied with extra food and water purification tablets by my new friends, I was off. I hiked ten miles up down and though the mountains to Sykes hot springs, where I stayed for five days talking to people, walking by and swimming in the river, getting in and out of the of the hot springs, doing experiments on regulating my body temperature by moving different limbs and other various body parts in and out of the hot springs... It was so beautiful and peaceful there. I just left today, and I am already wondering when the next time I will get to go back to Sykes. my next move is to head north to Crescent City. While I was relaxing at the hot springs, I met a commercial fishermen named Mark Russo, who said I could come work on his ship painting and getting it ready to sail for the up and coming fishing season. I will be living and working on a commercial fishing boat for the next three weeks. I start this Monday. Wish me luck!

Going to Big Sur

So I've been in Santa Cruz for three days. The first night I didn't really have any place to stay (and it is not as easy to find a place to set up a tent), so I ended up in a bush. The next two nights I got to spend in a house with some really nice people. It was super chill, and I got to walk around without my pack on and give my feet the chance to heal from all the blisters.
Today I'm heading to Big Sur and hopefully tonight I will be camping. I am feeling great.

Pacifica

So I did not stay in San Fran long. I'm now south of the city to Pacifica, where I will spend my first night. It's so beautiful here -- this is my first time seeing the Pacific Ocean. Later I'll post some pics of the beaches. Tomorrow I'll head south to Santa Cruz and then to Big Sur. Well, I must go find a place to spend the night. I will post again as soon as I can.
